La Dolce Vita - Italy’s most vintage aircraft for sale
I-ABMT History:
Found abandoned in the 60’s, this 1933 original and authentic Caproni CA 100 single engine two seater bi-plane was lovingly restored and brought back to life using original components through the efforts of Italian businessman, Gerolamo Gavazzi.
It has many unique and intriguing features such as a Sonia clock designed for the Regia Aeronautica, (the Italian Royal Airforce), the “Diavoletto” or little devil, and a Pezzani compass, with its gallery worthy dome shape design.
Originally produced for the Italian Military and operating in Rome to train and prepare pilots for the war, once the war was over, the aircraft was used for skywriting and advertising for cult Italian brands in Milan.
It then remained idle for several years before being restored by its current owner and is now at Milan Bresso airport where it holds the crown as Italy’s oldest airworthy aircraft.
The Book ‘Vecchie Ali in Cielo’ - Vintage wings in the sky - has been produced to celebrate I-ABMT.
The Caproncino is in immaculate condition, and is easy and fun to fly.
