Description
Own and fly a piece of aviation history . A beautifully restored 1941 De Havilland DH-82A Tiger Moth. The Tiger Moth is an open tandem cockpit biplane that has a fuselage constructed from steel tubing and covered in a combination of fabric and thin plywood. The wings and tail plane are constructed of timber and covered with fabric. The Gipsy Major engine, was manufactured, under license, by General Motors Holden in Australia.
Used in Australia by the RAAF as a training aircraft during the World War 2 era. It cruises at 80 knots and stalls at 40 knots. The MTOW is 828kg, Empty weight is 506kg and usable weight is 322kg. It will use 30 litre per hour. This aircraft is fully restored from head to tail by Hunter Valley Vintage Aircraft at Luskintyre NSW. It has always been hangared and has flown minimal hours in the past 6 years. A beautiful aircraft for training or joy flights. There's nothing like flying in an open cockpit!
