Airframe Notes
The Piper Comanche 180 is an all metal 4-person aircraft with a laminar flow wing, retractable gear and constant speed prop. Every individual aircraft part has been zinc-chromated prior to factory assembly for corrosion protection.
The stabilator tail is a fully movable aircraft horizontal stabilizer that allows the pilot to generate a given pitching moment with a lower control force.
The Piper Comanche was made for comfortable cross country flying with an extra wide cockpit which provides a more comfortable interior than the newer Piper airplanes.
It cruises at 145 knots and burns fuel at 10 gph. Fuel range is 700 nm (45 minute reserve) or 4 - 6 hours.
