    Description
For Sale: N58YF - A Meticulously Restored 1974 SIAI-Marchetti SF.260 Warrior/C Experience the Thrill of the SF.260 - An Iconic Aerobatic Sport and Cross-Country Airplane By any measure, the SF.260 is one of the most responsive and exciting sport planes in the sky. Best known as an Italian military trainer, several hundred SF.260s have been imported to the US over the years, earning a devoted following and a spot on the famous “20 Airplanes to Fly Before You Die” list. The SF.260's jet-like wing is highly maneuverable, well-coordinated, and an absolute blast to fly. It is one of the few aerobatic airplanes with more than two seats. As a military trainer, it features robust trailing link gear that is forgiving and nearly indestructible. The stick forces are light and well-balanced, making it a dream to pilot. Not only is the SF.260 a thrill in the air, but it's also a capable cross-country airplane for two adults and a couple of kids in the back, though luggage space is limited. For two grown-ups with all the Tumi bags they can pack, it's perfect. Aerobatics are smooth and precise, with rolls, loops, and spins that exude grace and control. The airframe recovers beautifully from any ham-fistedness, thanks to its excellent rudder authority. In short, if you’re looking for a sexy, Italian, economical airplane that excels in multiple roles and don’t mind being the center of attention on the ramp, this could be the plane for you. N58YF is a meticulously kept 1974 SIAI-Marchetti SF.260 Warrior/C model, lovingly restored from the tires up. Key features include: Fully rebuilt and painted gear, independent from the airframe. Overhauled fuel system with digital sending units in all four tanks. Brake system overhauled end to end, calipers brake lines, discs + new master cylinders. 570-hour Penn Yan Aero AEIO-540 engine with fuel injection. Total time - 2,860 hrs. Prop - 175 hrs since overhaul. Accessories include dual alternators and battery backups for the MFD and PFD. An all-Garmin panel and interior that are second to none. The jettisonable tinted canopy is in great shape, and the front seats accommodate backpack parachutes.
