    Engine Notes
2600 Hours Total Time Since Major Overhaul. 1343 Hours Since New Camshaft, Tappets, Bearings, and Complete Top Overhaul, (Lycoming TIO-540-AF1B, 270 HP, 2000 TBO). <200 Hours Since Turbocharger Overhaul and Fuel Injection System Overhaul. We sold it in late 2017 to the current owner. While doing the prebuy, there was a problem found with a cylinder or two. When we pulled the cylinder(s), the cam shaft was found to be worn. So the engine was pulled and torn down to replace the camshaft. A complete top overhaul was also done. New Bearings and Gaskets installed. New Tappets. New oil pump housing and gears. So mostly an overhaul but the case and crank weren't recertified, so it wasn't called an overhaul. But most of the engine has, effectively, 1350 hours on it, all of which were flown in the last 7 years (owner flew the aircraft a ton, from coast to coast and into Canada).  This is a regular long cross country flyer! The fuel injection system was overhauled last annual, as was the turbocharger. So while we will have to call it 2600 SMOH, the engine is, for all practical purposes, still a long way from needing overhaul.
