    Description
    This is the last Spartan Executive model 7W built, serial number 34. The first owner was the Texas Oil Products Company, which later became Texaco. It had a very high quality complete restoration in 1991 with 100% new wiring. Everyone who has owned it since has loved it and no “Mickey Mouse” equipment or workmanship was found anywhere. Annual Inspection 1-2014, Pitot-Static Mode-C 11-2012. This Spartan has ALL the best and most desired features.

    Airframe Notes
    Plexiglas is in near perfect condition. Wing leading edge is flush riveted. Most skins are original and in excellent condition. The airframe skins were inspected and sprayed with corrosion proofing.

    Engine

    Engine Notes
    The PW R-985 engine starts easily and has operated perfectly. It was majored during the 1991 restoration and has since flown 980 hours. It has a Fram HP6A large canister style oil filter system. The engine was recently inspected and serviced, valves adjusted, all the cylinders were bore scoped, exhaust and heater muff overhauled. Cylinder compressions #1 75/80, #2 75/80, #3 72/80, #4 74/80, #5 76/80, #6 74/80, #7 75/80, #8 75/80, #9 74/80. Most Spartans originally had a 12 Gallon fuel tank just behind the instrument panel. This fuel tank was removed from N34SE to increase safety and to allow depth to install modern avionics. N34SE has 60 gallon tanks instead of the standard 50 gallon fuel tanks. So the 60 gallon Main tank plus the 60 gallons Aux. tank = 120 US gallons total.

    Hoses and fuel drains replaced in 2012: All new oil hoses were installed. All new fuel hoses were installed, braided stainless firewall forward, with fire shielding. All new quick fuel drains were installed.

    Control surfaces fabric: The control surfaces were recovered and painted recently and were done very nicely. Flaps: The original vacuum system has been replaced with electric actuators. Landing Gear, Wheels and Brakes: This Spartan has a 28 volt electrical system which is not common but highly desirable and uses two Gill G35 (12vdc) batteries. The landing gear works smooth and strong like a 28 volt Bonanza. New main landing gear billet trunnions machined from 7075 allot billet replaced the original aluminum sand castings. New main gear retract Bungee cords. New modern seals in the main gear struts. Modern Cleveland main wheels and disc type brakes operated by rudder toe pedals. New main gear tug lugs. New polished main flush wheel covers. The BT13 type steering tail wheel has a spring loaded dry clutch and spring centers, then releases when you swing the tail around. Very nice! Electrical System: It has 100% new wiring from the 1991 restoration, a Jasco 28 volt alternator system and Whelen strobe lights.

    Exterior

    New dark green paint was applied very much like the original Texaco scheme. The underside and control surfaces of this Spartan are painted fine metallic silver. Overall polish by Midwest Aero (polished P51 Mustang re-builders in Danville, IL)

    Interior

    Interior Notes
    No corrosion was found under the 1991 interior. All aviation grade insulation and materials were used in the new interior completed in 2013. The headliner is creamy white, interior sidewalls and seats are soft beige and the carpeting is a darker brown. It looks 1940s and is very comfortable!
