Description
In 1996 Strela in Orenburg successfully restarted a new production run of the Yak 9. A Allison V-1710 V12 engine was used as a replacement as there are no original Klimov engines available. However these aircraft have many original parts. On offer here is the Yak-9 with serial number 0917918, which, prior to its reconstruction had been assigned to the 118th Reconnaissance Regiment of the Soviet Air Force. The Yak-9 was the most mass-produced Soviet fighter of all time. This Yak-9 was registered in Australia, before coming to Germany, where, after another extensive restoration, she flew again May 2010.
