An Xtreme Decathlon is the perfect all-around airplane! Aerobatics, Tailwheel, Back Country, Cross Country... it does it all! To put it simply, the Xtreme Decathlon makes flying Fun! As the name suggests Decathlons are great all-round airplanes that are equally suited for a number of missions. The Decathlon has always been regarded as a leader in the recreational aircraft market but the Xtreme Decathlon gives the mild-mannered sport airplane some serious performance with 210HP, a new balanced aileron design, and over 50 lb in weight savings! The added power allows the new XD to power through aerobatic maneuvers that were beyond the capability of 150/180HP Decathlons. Backcountry capability is vastly improved with excellent high-density altitude performance. Decathlons have a lower center of gravity and wide track spring aluminum landing gear resulting in superior ground handling compared to other taildraggers! The tough construction of the Decathlon results in high limit loads of up to +6 and -5 g's. The short wings add to the strength and performance of the Decathlon while taking up far less hangar space than other taildraggers.
