Project Aircraft - Non Airworthy ----------------------------------------- North American AT-6G – N22NA - S/N: 49-3222 Most Replacement Parts Are Included Numerous Spare Parts Location: Dayton, OH See Notes Below for Full Details Most Well Known T-6 in the World - Wowing Spectators for 40+ Years!! Rare Opportunity to own a Rebuildable T-6G - Starfire Night Sky Shows! History: Bill purchased and authentically restored his T-6 “Texan” in 1975. His Texan was manufactured in 1943 as an AT-6C and saw service with the Army Air Corps at Victoria Army Airfield - Victoria, TX. In 1951, the plane was “re-manufactured” as a T-6G and was then assigned to Goodfellow AFB TX and then Malden Air Force Base in Missouri. It was used as a trainer until 1955 when it was retired from service to make way for a new era of flight training that prepared pilots to fly jet aircraft. In 1959, the plane was sold as surplus for $771.11. This T-6 was restored to its original Korean Conflict military configuration with the help of the Air Force Orientation Group at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Bill’s hometown of Dayton, Ohio. Bill has made improvements to the aircraft to accommodate its new job as an air show plane. These improvements include an inverted oil system, modern radio and navigational systems for long cross-country flights, a smoke system, and, of course, the special equipment for the Starfire Night Skyshow. Engine

    Engine Notes
Engine Time: Pratt & Whitney - R-1340 - 1,800 Hours Total Time Since New - 200 Hrs Since Teardown & IRAN. Approx. 900 SMOH Engine is in a Factory Metal Shipping Can and ready to ship. Engine Notes: The engine mount assembly was not damaged. The engine has flown as recently as December on Bill’s other T-6 which is now at Chino CA. It has been removed and preserved in a metal factory shipping can. This engine was new (Zero time since new) when he bought it. It currently has less than 1800 hours TT since new (including cylinders). After the accident, it was sent it to Tulsa for a complete teardown and inspection. It was not damaged in the accident but since they had it apart, they replaced the master rod bearing with a new one. It has flown less than two hundred hours since that teardown. Uses very little oil. Engine Mount and Cowl - the engine mount and cowl age good. The mount could use some cleaning up but it and all the systems in the engine compartment were removed as a QEC. Includes the remote oil filter. The ring cowl is undamaged. Also, the chin scoop is undamaged from the accident.

    Props

    Additional Equipment

    Additional Equipment
Fuselage Tubular Frame: The fuselage tubular frame was damage beyond repair. There are two replacement Tubular frames. The fuselage tubulars are both on roll around steel frames that I built to be at a comfortable working height. My Choice is the “F” model frame. It is ready to clean and paint. The side console on the left side was damaged. A replacement Console and control stick assembly are included as they were damaged in the accident. Left Wing: Accident damage was mostly the left wing which hit a runway distance marker. It is totaled but useful for parts. There is a replacement left wing that we have modified to the G configuration. It is mostly finished. There are just a few things to do then a final inspection. Right Wing: This wing was totally rebuilt in 2007 after a landing accident (video on YouTube). It has a little damage where the center aileron hinge is mounted. There is also a wrinkle on the lower wing skin next to the wing attachment angle. All three wings are standing vertical on their leading edges on roller dollies for easy movement. Center Section: You will note the new center section is mounted on a swivel stand that allow you to flip the center section over so you can work on it with the bottom up, the top up and the center section vertical. It is on rollers to move it around. The old center section is on a wooden stand Also on rollers that allows you to remove the pieces that are needed to convert the new center section from a “D” to a “G” (mostly plumbing for the outboard fuel tanks.) Flaps: A set a flaps are included and appear to be serviceable. Tail Cone: The tail cone including all control surfaces, was not damaged. A SNJ-3 tailcone is included – really nice!! Miscellaneous Items: - Spare Mag - Spare Spinners - Extra Side Panels - Canopy Parts - Extra Control Surfaces
