Description
This is our fourth time selling this one and boy and are we glad to get it back! This low time 1986 model has all of the enhancements added to the M20J frame over the years including Wingtips with Enclosed Strobes and Recognition Lights, One-Piece Belly and Split Reclining and Removable Back Seats. And it was built during one of the sweet spots in Mooney production history, just as the ‘252’ was coming on line. The plane has several great additional enhancements including the replacement of the engine with an ‘A3B6’ split mag engine (replacing the single drive ‘Dual’ mag), multiple 'glass' indicators, FULL ADS-B In and Out (GDL-88), Graphic Engine Monitor, Flight Director and More.

Inspection Status
Inspection Status
Annual Inspection Due February 2025 . Good Maintenance History. Note on Engine: After fueling and a flight to the owners home airport, it was noted that there was a faint smell of Jet Fuel about the plane. The owner took a sample of the fuel from the plane and from the FBO and it was tested. It was found to contain 1-2% Jet A, so the FBO's insurance paid to have the aircraft engine torn down and inspected according to the Service instruction for fuel contamination. The owner opted to have the teardown upgraded to an overhaul and paid the extra for the service. We confirmed with Tim Maher that the engine did receive an overhaul per the manufacturers O/H manual and as an FAA certified Repair Station, the work they did qualifies as an overhaul. The owner had just installed new cylinders 25 hours before, so the were not overhauled at the same time but they were inspected. There will be a few hours more on the cylinders than the overhaul throughout this TBO cycle.
Regarding the prop: It was changed due to failure of the blades to pass an overhaul. Neither the engine work or prop rep;acement was due to damage (prop strike).
